Museum Talk: Boaters and Boathooks – Victorian Voyages on the Kennet & Avon Canal

What was a canal holiday like in Victorian times, long before today’s leisurely narrowboat trips?

Join us at Kingswood Heritage Museum on Wednesday 11 November as Alison Cannon takes us back in time to discover the adventures of Victorian pleasure boaters on the Kennet & Avon Canal. Drawing on fascinating historical accounts, she’ll bring to life their journeys, the challenges of navigating the waterways and the people and places they encountered along the way.

Admission is £4.50, including tea or coffee. Doors open at 6.45pm, with the talk starting at 7.30pm.

Places must be booked in advance: call 0117 960 5664 or email kingswoodmuseum@gmail.com.
